  • Why TKS vs a self-storage facility?
    Long-term storage of clothing items requires special care. All items in our care are checked regularly. Your items will be aired periodically, and our facility is climate-controlled to ascertain your clothing is securely stored and prevent any buildup of mold. Our facility is equipped with 24/7 high-end security. There is also the added convenience of having your Virtual Closet Portal as well as pickup and delivery services. Finally, our prices are very competitive to that of a storage facility.
  • What is the Virtual Closet Portal?
    The Virtual Closet Portal is your closet at your fingertips. It is a personalized photo display with details of the items stored with us. We photograph and upload each item you store with us for you to easily review, access, select, and assemble outfits for any occasion. Each client will have individual credentials for added security.
  • What items do you store?
    We store garments and accessories as well as wedding dresses and gowns. We also offer seasonal clothing storage in addition to storage of seasonally used pillows and blankets. We are planning to provide vacation equipment storage as well. Let us know how we can accommodate you.
  • How do I enroll?

  • Are my items secured?
    Our facility is equipped with high security 24/7 monitoring. Background checks are performed on all employees prior to employment.
  • Can I come to your facility?
    Protection of your items is our highest priority. We make allowances for customers to visit our office by appointment only.
  • How do I request my item-pickup or delivery?
    To request a pickup or delivery, please call, email, or use the feature on your virtual closet portal.
  • How much notice do I need to give when booking in a collection or delivery?
    We kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for a collection or delivery. However, we do offer emergency delivery for an additional fee.
  • What is the cost of Delivery and Pickup?
    There is a minimum cost for pickup and delivery, based on distance. This will be assessed during your initial setup.
  • What is the “Professional Attire” weekly service?
    As you return to the office, why worry about what you will wear each week? If your items are stored with us, we will deliver your selected weekly attire, pick up the previous week’s pieces, and clean and return those pieces to storage for you. A consultation is required for this service, and additional costs apply.
  • How many items can I store?
    We provide four categories of storage options for garment storage, and we offer box storage for your accessories; we do not have a limit on the number of items you can store with us. You are free to store as many items as you desire.
  • How long can I store my items?
    We ask for a minimum of three months for initial storage, and you are free to cancel at any time afterward. We also offer 6 and 12-month storage options with discounted prices. A mid-month cancelation will require a full-month payment.
  • What size are your storage boxes?
    Storage boxes measure at 23x14x12ins. These can be used to store sweaters, t-shirts, and other accessories. We currently do not offer shoes, purse/handbag or jewelry storage.
  • How will my clothing/accessories be stored?
    We place all items into our breathable garment bags or boxes.
  • What do I need to do to prepare for the initial appointment?
    To open an account, you will need to provide your full name, contact number and address for collection. We can then book your initial collection or a complimentary consultation, based on your preferences.
  • What areas do you deliver to and is there a fee?
    Currently we only serve the DC Metro area. We charge a pickup and delivery fee within a 25-mile radius and additional charges for emergency deliveries.
  • How long will the initial appointment take?
    While we offer online booking, at TKS, we understand that each of our client’s needs is unique, and some would prefer an in-person meeting. We can assist you in building your virtual closet. If you already have an idea of what you would like to store, just let us know during the call or appointment.
  • Will my items be covered by your insurance?
    TKS provides limited insurance for items stored with us.
  • Can I store my spring/summer wardrobe with you and then switch this out in the autumn/winter?
    Yes! We cater to seasonal storage, as we understand the need for switching wardrobes during the warmer and colder months.
  • Can I give you holiday items such as ski/sports equipment?
    Absolutely! Storing seasonally used ski/sports equipment or holiday clothing with us is a great way to free up space at home. We can also ship certain equipment to holiday destinations for you in the future. A consultation is required for this service and additional costs apply.
  • I’d like to store my wedding dress. Can I store this with you?
    You can store your wedding dress with us both before and after your wedding. We also offer long-term storage for safekeeping beyond your special day.
